WHY?

I was thinking this morning about the new shop, about how well it's going, and the joy (and work!) in all of it. Because I want everything I do to honor God and bring Him glory, I asked myself again "Why? Why do I do what I do?" I thought about my love for beauty...the way the gorgeous view of the marshes and waters fill my soul to overflowing, how the seashore constantly makes me aware of His awesomeness...and how I always want to duplicate these feelings in the homes I create. I thought of the joy I find in meeting and talking with the people that come into the shop, in hearing their stories and helping them find answers to questions they have. I thought about the times the girls call to tell me something in particular sold or I see what a great day we had, and I realized...it's not about the numbers, but about what they represent. Those numbers represent that people are finding joy. They are finding things that make them happy. They are building homes they love; and we get to have a little part in that.

It makes me smile when I see people being filled with happiness, when they are finding things that will make their house the home that they long for. Its so rewarding to have any part at all in making someones life a little better, even for a moment. Designing a new space for them, creating a special piece of furniture that brings their home closer to the curated space that feels just right for them, talking and getting to know them....it's all for the same reason, the same "WHY".

I simply want everyones life to be filled with comfort, joy, happiness and love. And anything at all I can do to bring a bit of that to their lives is simply amazing. I'm so thankful to be able to do what I do. And without each of you, it's completely meaningless. YOU are my why. YOUR HAPPINESS is my why. Thank you, for being so amazing.
